I’ve only started this product so I’ll update in the future if I find any problems… like they didn’t help. I’m writing now because I just saw a few one star reviews which don’t match my experience yet and one that is totally bogus. I reported it as they said how sick the cat got and doesn’t know what’s in these as information is not on package or available. NOT TRUE! see pictures of the package back of the tuna flavor and a blow up of the listed ingredients. Also a search on the web would find this information easily it this person was really so concerned about it.My cat LOVES eating these. Likes them better than TEMPTATIONS or this just seem this way because it’s new to him. I ration them as instructed by his weight. I also started TOMLYN’s Hairball Remedy Tuna Flavor two days before these. He HATES that stuff and won’t come near me for 8 hours or so. Not until he’s super hungry for food! Well, I’m glad he eats them. Won’t TOUCH the BLUE hairball food, mixed as instructed with his favorite food he just eats around it. At just a couple of dollars per package GREENIES are great so far…. and at that price any competitor can EASILY be a Verified Purchaser. I read reviews elsewhere before buying here. Amazon had the best price. Updates later if needed. Meow.

I HAVE TRIED OTHER HAIRBALL CONTROL TREATS, PASTES, ETC FOR YEARS AND THEY HATED THEM ALL. SO I GOT THE SMALLEST BAGS OF THIS NOT WANTING TO WASTE ANY MORE MONEY ON SOMETHING ELSE THEY WON’T EAT.THEY ARE COMPLETELY OBSESSED WITH THESE TREATS. I HAD THEM IN AN UPPER CABINET. HAD TO MOVE IT TO A DRAWER.CAUSE THEY WERE GETTING UP TRYING TO PULL OPEN THE CABINET TO GET TP THESE.MY MALE CAT ACTUALLY DROOLS WHEN I GET THE LITTLE BAG OUT!!! THEY ARE MORE EXCITED ABOUT THESE TREATS THEN THEY ARE ABOUT CATNIP. I CALL IT CAT COCAINE AND THEY ARE ADDICTED.WISH I HAD FOUND THESE YEARS AGO.I LOVE IT TOO – ITS ONLY ABOUT 8 – 10 DAYS IN AND NOT A SINGLE HAIR BALL HACKED UP ON MY CARPET – FOR 2 CATS THAT ARE PART MAINE COONS WITH TRIPLE LAYER FUR – THAT IS A MIRACLE.IT IS GREAT FOR TRAINING CATS TOO. HE KNOWS IF HE SITS NEXT TO ME ON THE SIDE OF THE BED AND TAKES HIS DAILY MEDS, THEN HE WILL GET HIS TREATS. TOOK 2 DAYS OF ‘TRAINING’ AND I DON’T EVEN HAVE TO CALL HIM OR HUNT HIM DOWN ONLY THEN TO STRUGGLE WITH HIM TO GET IT IN HIM. THAT MADE BOTH OF US GRUMPY.NOW IF I SIT ON MY BED TO PUT ON MY SHOES OR GET UP IN THE NIGHT TO GO TO THE BATHROOM, ETC… HE SHOWS UP TO GET HIS MEDS AND HIS TREATS – JUST AMAZING.

My cats are addicted to these! I don’t know what are in these, but OMG, my cats will do most anything for them. They like the Chicken flavor, but the Tuna is their favorite. These treats have really helped when I have to give my older cat fluids subcutaneously; it is uncomfortable to her but, after her fluid treatment is done, she leads me to where we keep the Greenies treats which seem to make up for the unpleasantness of the fluids. One of my cats has learned to open the container and had I not intervened just in time, I think she would have eaten it all. I’ve shared photos of the incident. The first 2 photos has my older cat on the floor on lookout. Unfortunately, she can no longer hear very well. The cat on the counter managed to remove the top to the Greenies treats! It would probably help if the top wasn’t so easy to remove.

Ok first, for all those who are wondering how many Feline Greenies Smartbites are in a bag: There are consistently about 100 Greenies Smartbites per ounce. For instance, there are 460-464 pieces in a 4.6 oz “Value Size” bag.Since I started giving 12 pieces of Hairball Control Greenies daily to each of my 12-lb long-haired cats, there are a lot fewer “wet mice” to clean up from my floors. Before, I could count on at least 2 or 3 huge monstrosities to clean up per week, per cat (easy to tell because one cat is light, one is dark). Now, it’s maybe once per month per cat, and the hairballs are tiny compared to what was yakked up before Greenies. I am noticing, however, slightly hairy but otherwise normal-looking poops in the litter box… sorry if that’s TMI, just thought I’d mention it because it does seem to indicate that the Greenies are doing their job: adding fiber, breaking up the hairballs, and easing things out the other end.It is important to give the full serving of all 12 treat bits all at once, and not skip any days, or they are not as effective. I also don’t give within an hour or so of a meal, just in case it might interfere with absorption of food nutrients (?).The 10-pack of 4.6 oz bags is an incredible deal. But keeping them fresh is a BIG factor in keeping cats interested in eating them. It takes awhile to go through what, 4600 Greenies total, at 12 pieces per day per cat, unless you have a bunch of cats!! I only have the two cats. So, since there are oils in these Greenies, I keep all bags, even the unopened ones, in the refrigerator so they won’t go rancid before they’re consumed. This works great to keep them fresh. The zipper seal isn’t reliable, so I also always keep the opened bag inside a ziplock bag.My cats are very aloof from each other; but they will both happily share space on my lap for their Greenies as soon as they hear the bag rattle. They literally drool little puddles while they wait for me to count out their portions. They are still just as eager for their daily Greenies now as they were many months ago.One more thing that’s important to note: There are a multitude of counterfeit products on Amazon now, including pet foods and pet treats. For the safety and health of your pets, make sure that when you purchase these, you check the seller’s ratings carefully and choose a reputable one. That way you know you’re getting the real deal, not something adulterated or contaminated that may sicken your precious fur-friend.

Ever wanted to teach your cat tricks? I’ve done it with 3 different cats over the years with these things. They love these! I’ve taught my current cat to “Sit”, “Sit-up”, “Give me your paw” and now I’m working on “turn-around”. She’s struggling with that one because she doesn’t want to take her eye off the treat! Spinning around means she loses sight of the prize for just a moment – and that’s too long! LOL.I give her a few of the hairball treats and a few of the dental treats every day. If I forget – she reminds me! I once dropped her off at the kennel while I was traveling and forgot to bring these with me. I knew she’d be upset, so I ordered here on Amazon and had them delivered to the kennel – how spoiled is that?!! LOL. The kennel was astounded how she did tricks for them! They loved it too.GET THESE! Your cat will love you for it! And they don’t smell like the nasty smelling, cheap garbage treats you get at the food store. These are good for them too. …and go for it – try to teach them tricks! You’ll be surprised. Have patience and allow them to do it in their own “kitty time” – they have to pretend they are still in charge.WARNING: Do not leave the package on the counter or unattended – you will find puncture holes in the bag. Put in drawer or cupboard. …now if only she had fingers to unzip the bag herself….

There is nothing worse than getting out of bed in the morning to step in your cats’ nasty hairball. As much as I love my kitty there’s nothing I hate more than hearing that sound that she’s about to upchuck a hairball. She doesn’t do it very often but when she does, she does it with style. I brush her every other day and when I started her on the Hairball regime within an hour she was coughing up a glorious nasty ball of muck. But since then no problems. She loves the way that these taste and as soon as I say it’s time for treats she’s willing to sit, high-five, twirl, and give kisses. I highly recommend these for anyone then never wants to step in their cat’s vomit again.

    The Reluctant Critic

Before I discovered this product I used an anti-hairball gel that my cat hated the taste of and she would cough up monster hairballs once every 15 days like clockwork.I give her twelve of these treats per day, all at once and on an empty stomach as per instructions. I started her on these two months ago, and no hairballs are to be found in my house. It has the added bonus of her loving the taste of them.I have found that these are filling treats that decrease her appetite for her regular food. I also give her Greenies Dental Treats, too, so I’m sure her love of those contribute to her diminished appetite. It’s hard to find the right balance with regular food, and she has lost a bit over half a pound, which I suppose isn’t too bad for a nine-year-old 12-pound feline. And I’m not kidding about this. My cat loves me a ton more since she started these. She purrs like nuts while she eats them and is my best friend for life now.My veterinarian approves, and he says to ignore alarmists regarding petroleum concerns because it is an inert ingredient. I don’t know one way or the other, but it’s not something I worry about. She’s lived a long, good life, and she checks out just fine at the vet once a year.

Safer than tube hairball remedies!! Decades ago, we fed our cats a dab of the flavored cat stuff in a tube (which was mostly mineral oil/petrolatum) for hairballs. We gave it to them once a month; it worked great and they almost never suffered hairballs. They lived to very ripe old ages. Hairballs can present a number of health problems for cats and should not be ignored. You can brush them endlessly, but they still get them.Fast-forward to this decade. While caring for our terminal cancer-kitty, her oncologist told us that the tube stuff was not good as cats tended to inhale a bit into their lungs when ingesting it; who knew?! Even a tiny bit is apparently quite bad for their lungs.Couple years later now, we have cats again and were quite pleased to find these. Smartbites work well, cats like them and no worries about lungs. I think of this ‘TREAT’ like MEDICINE because of the petrolatum. The same way I would never have given my cats twice the amount of the tube stuff, I am careful to limit these. My experience (& my veterinarian) has taught me to always read labels, begin slow with anything new, be alert to changes and use the smallest amount that gets the result. Our cats are indoor, shorter hair and only get 6/day. P.S. NOT FOR KITTENS: they caution against use in cats under 1-year-old!

my 1.5 year old maine coon is both a walking hairball (see picture) and the pickiest eater i have ever encountered. when i give her food (high-quality wet OR dry), she typically will sniff the bowl then walk away, perhaps coming back a few times throughout the day to nibble at it. she AIN’T IMPRESSED no matter what. that being said, i have made it a routine for the past 5 months (when i adopted her from an animal shelter) to give her a little daily combo of the Greenies Hairball Control, Greenies Dental Treats, and Greenies Skin & Fur. she FREAKS OUT over these treats and comes running if i even go NEAR the area where i keep them.i really like that you can somewhat substitute dry food with these (they contain complete nutrition requirements in themselves), so i don’t feel like i’m just enabling a future fat cat. as for the hairball control aspect, she has only had one or two hairballs in the past 5 months (since she has been taking them. considering she has a coat like a lion and grooms herself pretty much all day, i find this to be very impressive. she also has not had any stomach issues / unusual poos, which i was worried about initially. she loves every flavor of these things, but i think tuna is the favorite. you can’t go wrong with these. your cat will love you and possibly also sit on your face every morning to wake you up to feed them to her/him.

he’ll fetch the bag and bring to me. it’s adorable. he’s obsessed. tried all variations and the tuna flavor in the 2.1oz bag is by far his kitty crack. the bigger sizes must be not as strong or fresh for some reason. i have these on subscribe and save, so it’s a better price, and always fresh, and in supply. it constitutes about half his diet. his other food is uti grain free. hard to find food he likes, as he’s really picky. he used to like regular teeth cleaning greening but once finding these there’s no compare. i give him several every few hours. he wants these, tuna flavor, all the time so i just give him between 4-10 at a time. i have to resist his meows and make him wait till he eats his regular food. just started getting forza uti crunchy food and he seems to like it, too. yay amazon.this pic is him, as a kitten. he just turned ten. these have always been his fav!
