J. M. Hills –
A full sounding speakers in a modest sized apartment. I had a pair of Polk A3s that I was using as front L+Rs, but really wanted achieve a more encompassing sound with out adding more giant Polk speakers from the same line around the room. Used mainly for playing music (rock, country, and acoustic), these 1000s were the perfect fit. Got them in white and mounted easily using the pro mount 90s (purchased separately). They compliment the Polks really well–I did have my receiver do some calibration for me though. They provide a very clear high and mid-range, while the polks provide the warm bass and low end. Also purchased the 1000 center channel, which is pretty good too, but I need to crank up the center a little bit extra sometimes to keep up with the rest of the system. Great speakers that would probably work as good as any front channels or zone 2’s. All of which affords me more flexibility for if I ever move into a bigger space.

This is what I used for my front left and right speakers for the last few years. The rear speakers finally went. I bought more of these cause I’ve loved them. I originally got these because my wife doesn’t want a big, ugly subwoofer in the room. I don’t blame her. They sound great but they are a bit of an eye soar. Any how, these smaller shelf speakers have special tech built into the to improve bass output, and it really works. It doesn’t hit as hard in stereo because it only uses two of the speakers, thought it is still pretty good. When using surround sound and a full set of these speakers, it will shake the house. With surround sound I don’t miss having a subwoofer at all. With stereo I’m pretty happy.Any how, I love the speakers a lot. That’s why I’m buying them again.

Replaced a nice but older pair of speakers. These have incredibly clean, balanced sound. I put these in the study, and next time these are on sale, I want to pick up a pair to use as back speakers for our TV surround sound system. Just terrific speakers!Edit: I did pick up a 2nd pair for my back channel surround sound speakers, and they were markedly better than my prior good JBL ONE speakers from which were about 20 years old. Crisp and clean sound, improved the overall blu-ray viewing experience considerably.

Wow! These really opened up my stereo / surround experience. Originally had Bose AM-7 sub-satellite system and it was good for movie sound but always lacked something for music. I replaced L-R with Pro Monitor 1000s and center with Pro Center 1000. I found these to be much more efficient and required very little EQ. I am in Pro Audio and used my analysis software to look at these… they have a very flat response (which is what is expected of a quality speaker) across the frequency spectrum and with just a couple EQ filter tweaks they sounded very good! I crossed them at 80hz with an existing JBL sub and was very pleased. I intend to eventually replace the sub also with a DT model. Stereo imaging is very good and dialogue through the center is very crisp and intelligible. You simply can’t beat these even with speakers twice the price!

I like the compact size of these speakers. They are adequate for my purposes. I have them in a back room which I use for “artistic” purposes. I have a complete set of Definitive Technology speakers which support a 5.1 surround system in my living room. The ProMonitor 1000 speakers certainly do not have the sound quality of the surround set of speakers (which are now about 15 years old – great quality speakers), but as I have stated, they are okay for listening to music in my back room. I would recommend Definitive Technology to anyone who is looking for a quality sound experience.

Okay it’s been a good 10+ years since I upgraded my speakers. I’m not an audiophile by a long shot, but love music and watching movies.I’m using a Denon AVR-S910W receiver and had a 5.1 setup of Sapphire speakers. Finally (after a ton of research) realized it was time and bought the ProMonitor 1000’s and the ProCenter 2000.The monitors are very good (have them on the ProStands) but the center is great! I’m using my setup for 70/30 movies/music. The clarity of the center channel is what impresses me most. I’m happy with the sound of the music as well (mostly blues, rock and metal). The sound and compact size made these exactly what I was looking for.Still need to upgrade the sub, but that will have to wait a bit.So far very happy with the purchase.

These speakers are amazing with it’s small size. They sounded like having big speakers in our room. The highs and mids clarity are very good and produces good punchy bass too with the help of it’s passive radiator. The construction of the body is plastic which is not strong enough for heavy bass when volume is turned on loud. Also, at high volume, the plastic feet would tend to vibrate which annoys our hearing. Have to remove them to replace with silicon isolation feet. These speakers are great but needs improvement on the plastic feet as most of the time when playing averagely loud, these speakers would drift away from the speaker stand and fall off. So looking into better feet is a must.Overall, i’m very satisfied with these tiny monsters that works great. Would purchase more when requirements calls for further upgrades of my system. Would certainly recommend them to anyone who requires small but huge sound.

Fantastic speakers, I used them for my front heights and they’re amazing. It’s worth the price.

Incredibly dynamic and capable speakers for the size. You could even do without a subwoofer if you didn’t really care about the super-low-end bass and shaking the walls, but the experience will be even better with a basic subwoofer. Slick piano black finish, unique curved design which was wife-approved. Next to a 55″+ TV these look small and beautiful.I replaced a pair of high quality ultra-compact speakers which had 3.25″ drivers, with these which have 5.25″ drivers plus bass radiators. I was missing detail and power in the low-end range and now I have it. You should consider setting your receiver to send the full range of sound into these, not just the range above the subwoofer crossover. The break-in time is legit so don’t fully judge them until a month of usage and after that you should re-run your receiver’s optimizer program to bring out the best in them. After the break in period they sound more balanced across the full range compared to when I first took them out of the box. I am thrilled with my purchase.
