Personally, I really like this thing. I have a 2018 Focus that I use this in to hold my phone close to the USB port for the apple car play. I didn’t want wires strung across my center console and interfering with my shifter (plus it just looks tacky). All the excess cable I have is wrapped around the base, leaving just enough to catch my phone (I use magnetic cables so this is super easy, I would highly recommend those as well). One thing that detracts from a full rating is the bolt used to cinch the adjustment in place. As other reviewers have stated, it can come loose and the phone can slump forward when this happens. For me, I just tightened the hell out of it, and it seems to be working fine a few months later. The other thing you can do is put loctite on the threads (use blue just in case, red will be permanent). If you’re creative you can find a way to mitigate this issue, which is a relatively small issue anyway. I also feel like this thing is a bit overpriced, but after using it for so long I’m glad I ponied up the money for it. Also, I had absolutely no issues getting the cups apart. If you just look at it you can easily figure it out. It comes with a tool that makes it easier, but you don’t need it if it’s missing or you lost it. Everyone saying that they couldn’t get the cups apart, or that it was difficult, is either non-observant or has zero critical thinking skills. You could also just, you know… read the instructions. If you’re reading this review, you should just buy it. Clearly if that is the case you’re giving it serious thought, and so I would posit that you will be glad you purchased one.

The black unit looks good in my 2017 Explorer as my interior trim is also black. It took a little effort to separate the different size cups, luckily the second one fit perfectly with no wobble or vibration. My IPhone 8 also fit nicely. The unit seems well made and durable. Time will tell.

Very well made of sturdy stuff and fits my center console large cup holder perfectly. If I should ever get a larger or smaller phone than my Galaxy S9 or buy a vehicle with larger or smaller cup holders I won’t have to buy another cellphone holder as this one will easily adapt to other sizes of both. In short, this WeatherTech CupFone Cup Holder works exactly as the TV ads and WeatherTech website videos demonstrate. However, before buying one, take note of where your cup holders are in relation to your gear shift lever. If they are directly in line, the holder and phone will interfere with your operation of the shift lever. Not a problem with my manual transmission Tacoma, where the cup holder is offset to the right of the gear shift, but would get in the way of the lever on my wife’s automatic transmission CrossTrek.

Fits any size cup holder you may have to take one or two cups off with a supplied key inserted in the bottom of the cup and pull down . It is a bit expensive but the quality is exceptional and you won’t be disappointed.

At first, I thought I overpaid but upon inspection you soon discover that this is a quality product. It’s Sturdy and made to last.Tricky to remove outer sleeves to reduce the diameter of the base to fit your cup holder. We had to view the instructional video to understand that you need this little part to press out the sleeves.Save the extra parts for use on another car with larger cup holders.

I bought three of them for Christmas presents and everyone loves them. I had some trouble getting the sizing cups apart but I figured it out with the little tool and sized the cup holder receptacles perfect. Good buy.

Ok so I own a 2018 Nissan Maxima…..After reading most of the negative reviews I was very skeptical of purchasing it……Sometimes you can’t always base your decision off of the reviews so I took a chance……Believe it or not I am quite please with this product…….I would have disagree with a couple of things…..1 The cup phone is very well made2 The phone holder is adjustable to your phone with a case and can adjust to a larger phoneBut I will say that the cup phone did not fit snug in my car cup holder……So I decided to use velcro and adhesive tape…..I wrap the soft part of velcro around the cup phone that was closest to my car cup holder size and used the other piece of velcro and taped it inside my cars cup holder……Then I pushed the cup phone into the car cup holder and WALLAAAA!!! a snug fit…..I’m I’ve made this purchase no regrets……Hope this helps……

This is a very well designed product, and is very sturdily constructed and well weighted. The use of nesting shapes for the portion fitting into the car’s cup holder allows “fine tuning” the phone holder to fit the actual cup holder. The cup phone holder is most useful for automobiles which have their cup holders forward, in front of the driver and passengers. This allows the driver to see the phone for navigation. While still useful in cars with the cup holders between the driver and passenger (such as in most sports cars), it really does not permit seeing maps as easily. Most smart phones provide audio cuing for answering the phone or for making calls, and most provide audible directions when using the map function for navigation, so seeing the phone is not as important, thus the location may not be as critical. Well worth the money!

Does exactly what I wanted on my iPhone Xr with a slim case on it. I am a handy person so I can as expecting the cups to be difficult to separate. It does NOT take brute force! There are holes in the bottom of each cup, starting with the bottom cup hole, press and wiggle the next cup out. Repeat until you get the fit you want for your holder. Holds the phone low and at the perfect angle for “faceID” that unlocks my phone. Those who struggle bc they are not patient or handy should ask for help, as usual. You know who you are by now!
