   Received this IR Illuminator yesterday and immediately set it up (read: plugged it in) next to my security camera. The on board Infra red light on the camera quit after 4 years so I bought this for $30 rather than spending $150 on a new camera. Once it got dark out, the difference in what could be seen (and recorded) was HUGE! I’ve included a photo grab from the monitor of the view to the back yard with the onboard IR lamp and another with the Univivi lamp set up to show the difference. Amazing! Nighttime now looks like a b&w daytime view. The camera is mounted 15’ up and the distance the lamp lights out in the 2d photo is 90’. Assuming this lasts a reasonable length of time, it’s so worth the money, and I do see a few more of these in my future.

   I use two of these to illuminate dark areas around my garage for security cameras. They do a great job throwing IR light.They have integrated heat sinks in their design, but they don’t seem to get hot. No issues yet with heat.They’re inside, so I can’t speak to their resilience in the elements.The LEDs do glow red, so they are visible in the dark.They do the job. We’ll see how long they last.

   4,000 letters can say what this light has done for my barn. It’s like night and day inside now. Without is before I installed the light, and after is after I installed the light. Easy to installed (took 10 mins) and wow. The pictures will tell 1,000 words after this light. The averge cost to run this light is about $1.20 a year (depending on where you live). You can’t go wrong with this light. My cameras have night vision, but the light ring after 6 months failed. The without picture will show this.

   This is way better then the tiny IR LED that is included on most night vision cameras. It lights up my viewing are completely. I was able to mount it a few feet away from the camera and turn the camera’s night light off. I no longer have IR sensitive insects setting off my motion detection all night long.

   Bought this hoping to expand the IR range of my night owl cameras. When mounted directly above the camera it was so bright it washed out the camera’s own IR, cutting the field of view at night. I am now using it as a standalone IR source to illuminate the dark areas my cameras cant reach. Works great!! The IR light is thrown a long way and brightens areas that 3 cameras could not see into before. In my application, I found that being mounted up high was the best position to meet mu needs. I plan on getting more as my system expands.

   I’ve had this product 1 week, will update if needed.I have a 24′ x 48′ building that I need to watch. In the day time it’s great, enough light gets in to see fine, at night was a different story. The light is mounted about 9 foot high on the center of the 24ft wall 90 degrees from the camera, which is also mounted up over 9ft high. I will be adding one more camera and another one of these lights with slightly different angles so they don’t wash over each other at the far end of the 48′. Very pleased with the results of just one light.I will let the attached before and after pictures speak for themselves.

   Absolutely awesome. Granted I’ve only had it for a couple of days, it has more than met and beat my expectations. It has a great build quality and feels like a nice piece of equipment. I wouldn’t hesitate to say that it performs better than how it’s described and its a great addition to any camera with night vision. I live up North with a decent bit of land and it illuminates a solid acre. That being said, you’re certainly not going to see with clarity what’s going on that far away, depending on your equipment obviously, but at least you’ll be aware that something’s out there. Inside those parameters it’s very bright with a nice even spread. I would recommend this U8R illuminator to anyone looking, without a doubt

    Got it up and running now. I tested it out when I bought it but never got around to installing it. Got tired of missed creatures of the night and ????I got it up just using a wood working clamp to see where I wanted to put it. Did that for a couple of nights. Then I ran a 30′ power extension wire that I bought along with this. Then today, it got bad outside and cooled off – windy rainy day, so I pulled it down and built me a wood mounting bracket to add to my porch roof post. Pics addedUpdate 09-24-2021 Work like a charm for 3 years ,under a roof but can get wetStopped working two nights ago, still have to see what’s not working, light, power supply or power cord extension??? I’ll update if I remember.Please smash the like button, this is a real review
