   Just got the bar today and hooked it up. Wow, it took 5 minutes and I was listening to music. We love our new TCL TV and didn’t want to deal with another remote so liked the design of this one and bought it. I was skeptical at first about it saying it really fills the entire room but it really does. We watched a movie and what an amazing experience. Unbelievable. I would recommend this to anyone. Great price, fantastic sound and super easy to use.

   I was looking into sound bars and wanted something to improve my TV experience. Prior to buying this, I would often find that I had my TV turned up to volume 20+ and still needed the subtitles because I could just not hear or understand what was being said. It was a lot of volume adjusting where the voices were quiet and the music sound effects were deafening. As I am deaf in one ear, its always been a struggle with acoustics and hearing the TV. This is easy to install and set up. My TV is not a smart TV so I needed to use the optic cable to connect correctly, however I have had no issues and it was easy and quick to install. I now only need the volume at 8/9 in order to drown out any outside noise and hear the TV. The sound is crystal clear and the Bass really adds to the effect. This really creates an immersive watching experience and makes all the difference, I would recommend to anyone wanting to get lost in their viewing/gaming experience. This is a fair price point for a good quality product.

   (HIGHLY RECOMMEND)-After reading online technical reviews I purchased this sound bar to complement my new 65R635 4K TV. I connected the sound bar via eARC from the TV and the setup could not have been easier. Using the ROKU OS to adjust the TV and sound bar settings is particularly useful. Once connected I had an issue with the sound bar for some reason refusing to go past the default input TV home screen when the TV was turned on. I called TCL technical support and they were able to walk me through how to solve the problem that was not documented in the TV or sound bar setup instructions. Want to give TCL technical support a shout out here. I have contacted other manufactures technical support centers and almost every time have been frustrated by either not being able to reach a real person, if I do reach a real person I know more about their product than they do, or they give up if they cant solve the problem following the instructions that are already in the user manual. Was able to reach a real TCL tech support person who was very knowledgeable and stayed on the phone with me until the problem was fixed. To me this alone was worth the price of the sound bar! Below is my summary assessment of this sound bar’s Pros and ConsPros-Great value for the money! Very large sound stage with clear dialog and decent bass, Doesn’t sound better than my dedicated Yamaha RX-6A and Anthony Gallo speaker setup but great for everyday listeningCons-No way to tweak the sub (i.e. cross over frequency, phase, volume,…) like you can with a dedicated sub All you can do is lower the overall bass level. Accordingly the bass is a bit boomy with no way to tame it-Documentation is sparse. (i.e. sound modes include one called Boost in addition to TV, Movie,… with no explanation of what this setting is used for-Hard to determine sound bar status (i.e. Off, Awake, Sleep…) Not a problem now after talking with TCL tech support because it just works turning on when I turn on the TV. But this is very disconcerting when trying to trouble shoot a problem

   this unit replaces a Sound Bar, BESTISAN TV Sound bar with Subwoofer, which I’ve purchased a few days ago; the latter is not bad, don’t get me wrong but the TCL Alto at the very same price as the Bestisan blows it out of the water; setup was super easy, my TCL smart tv did everything by itself, and I can adjust the volume of this unit through my Roku TV remote control; I am very pleased with this purchase; it’s not like my main Bose or Yamaha surround sound system but for a midsize living room or my larger master bedroom it does the job very nicely

   Clearly some people who bought this soundbar expecting subwoofer type bass and bose type all around sound should just stop.This soundbar is what it is – a great step up from your TV speakers. And while it’s not overly powerful or bassy or loud, it’s still of excellent value and even better way to upgrade your current TV.

   I’m not no professional on this nor do I know if it’s gonna help ya’ll but hopefully it’ll help clear some doubts.1. For me it makes a difference cause I do own a roku tv and basically to connect it to the tv just use the hdmi cord and just put it in the hdmi arc slot on both and it connects and don’t forget to hold the pairing button on the subwoofer2. Idk I’m not much a sound person to know difference but it does sound better than a tv speaker and the bass I can hear the diff as well.3. Idk about other people problem with it but mine work well but who knows like something wrong with packaging, some went wrong or something just call tech support that’s how I feel at least because so far no problems as this is the day I got mine.4. It’s pretty bigger than I thought but I’m not sure about the weight because it felt light to me.So currently it’s 2/26/2021 pretty much an update.So bluetooth to get bluetooth to be working gotta manual do it by lightly pressing the bluetooth button on top of the speaker or atleast from my knowledge because I’m not sure how to work the remote way of bluetooth.There was one day that the speaker was not connected to the tv for some reason probably my fault but it was just a quick and easy fix which was a plug out from the arc from the tv and plug it back in.It does have led lights so u can see if it’s on or not or whatever else. So far it’s working fine.Currently it’s 3/19/21Not sure now if it’s a me problem or a it problem because I’m not sure if I wired it all the way or its just having problem because now rarely it like doesn’t want to connect to my tv but all I have to do is plug it out and plug it in and it’s all fine, lol still same issues but easily fix but so far so good.Idk what else to write about so I’ll update it later if anything happens.    The media could not be loaded.  I was looking for a soundbar under 100. bought a soundbar from another company and I was kinda ok with it. But then I saw this one from TCL which was also under 100. This is just so much better. I guess the subwoofer does help a lot. Also, it is so seamless to control with your Roku TV remote. I didn’t have to do anything as soon as I plugged it in using HDMI-ARC and switched on the TV, it auto-detected.

   I purchased the TCL ALTO 9+ 3.1 CHANNEL SOUND BAR to improve the sound for my LG 55″ CX Series – 4K UHD OLED TV from Costco. Using the HDMI-Arc output with the included HDMI cable on the sound bar to the HDMI-Arc input on my TV, the sound bar was instantly recognized by the LG TV. That’s all it took for my LG TV to switch the audio out put to the TCL sound bar. I control the volume on the LG remote. I only need to use the TCL remote only if I want to use other features like sound modes depending on the content I’m watching. Apple AirPlay from my iPhone and iPad was easy to enable from the apple device to the TCL sound bar.To test the Atmos decoder, I streamed Start Wars The Force Awakens from Disney +. Wow! My living room felt like it was under attack by the First Order and Kylo Ren. The bass from the subwoofer is its own force.The TCL sound bar turns your living room into a theater experience. Great sound for the value.

   Ok, so I read a lot of negative reviews AFTER I had already purchased this item. I almost cancelled my order based on them. However, I decided to go ahead and take my lumps if I was wrong. Let me start by saying that I have an old Insignia Roku TV (about 6-7 years old). It is not a TCL and obviously it is older than a lot of TVs mentioned in all the negative reviews. I unboxed the unit, THEN I READ THE ENTIRE INSTRUCTIO MANUAL. It’s not difficult, only took a couple of minutes. When everything was prepared, I plugged the HDMI cable into the ARC port on the television. It recognized the unit in seconds and told me we were done. It works great, the sound is great and I am perfectly satisfied. You must understand that this is not true Atmos, it is simulated. If you ordered this thinking you were getting true Atmos on a 3.1 system, it’s on you, not the bar.
