Call me old fashioned, but I much rather sweep our deck, porch, and steps with this handy and well-made broom than listen to the abhorrent noise of a blower. It even looks attractive. It was well packed and delivered promptly.

I’m tired of cheap discount store brooms. Some of them sweep well enough, but cheap aluminum handles never last long. I went through two or three last year — more than the purchase price of this O-Cedar beast. There’s nothing flashy about this broom. Your grandparents used something similar. It’s just — built. The corn straw is dense and even. The stitching and wire neck reinforcement are overkill. The handle is even more substantial than in the product photos. It’s nicely lacquered, smooth, and suitable for double duty as a melee weapon if you find yourself accosted while sweeping sand and dog hair, our default floor covering in these parts.Prepare yourself for shedding season, the unidentifiable gunk kids track in through summer vacation, and civil unrest. Choose this broom.

Wow, who would have thought a broom could be worth reviewing? This puppy is some broom! Substantial, springy, balanced, and, hey I’m a little embarrassed to say so, but actually fun to use. Go ahead, replace that old sucker you’ve got now with this one and you too will be pleased. Whoever made the Harry Potter comment got it right. Enjoy.

There is a direct link between the quality of cleaning products and the quality of life. Back when these sturdy, strong, wooden brooms made with real corn were the only option, the people of the world were happy. Now that cheap plastic junk brooms are the norm, people are angry. Coincidence? I think not. Make brooms great again.

I don’t think I’ve ever spent this much on a broom (on Amazon it’s not much, actually), but I sure can tell the difference between this O-Cedar Broom and pretty much every other broom I’ve owned. This one is about 15% larger than your average drug store broom (longer handle, wider and taller bristles) and it’s really solidly built. I got this for my husband’s art studio where he works in plaster, and he’s thrilled. He says this broom will be more thorough in cleaning up the plaster dust along with everything else. If you love this style of broom, don’t bother with any other brand.

I ordered this from amazon after searching everywhere in stores in my area. I could not find one anywhere. The brooms they offered were wimpy, small or plastic. I decided to try this one after reading the reviews. It came exactly as described. It is full and sturdy and definitely does the job. I would definitely recommend!Update: 2/25/16 I’ve used this broom daily and it has held up very well It has held it’s shape and not worn down at the edges like so many brooms do. I am still very happy with it.

Well made and does the job. Feels sturdy and lasts for years if you treat it right (store indoors and hang it up, don’t stand it on its bristles). Easy to steer and gets great mileage especially on nights with a full moon. Staff is thick enough that it doesn’t pinch if you sit on it right.

I ordered this broom to use in the garage because of it’s size and commercial rating but surprisingly discovered it is too soft for the garage. You cannot effectively jab it into corners and under work benchers, etc., but it excels at general sweeping for dust and debris and turned out to be excellent for our home with it’s 100% downstairs and upstairs solid White Oak hardwood flooring. It’s wide, soft, flexible, and excellent at sweepting dust, etc. Much better in the house than in the garage. I had also ordered the Weiler 44008 Corn Fiber Heavy-Duty Wire Banded Warehouse Broom with Wood Handle, 1-1/2″ Head Width, 57″ Overall Length, to use in the house but discovered it is far better in the garage. It is stiffer than the above broom and excels at jabbing it into corners, under benches, etc., and sweeping up small pieces of wood (golf ball size, from the bandsaw, etc.

Wow–who would’ve thought that a broom could elicit such admiration? This broom rivals Harry Potter’s Nimbus 2000. It’s rock solid and has a velvet ring over the metal piece at the base of the handle. Velvet?! If it were morally acceptable I’d ensconce myself in velvet–but a broom? It’s almost too nice to use–like a broom in a tuxedo. However, use it I have–and how…I’ve swept the porch, the patio, the garage, my walkway, the driveway, my neighbors’ driveways–I’m looking for places to sweep. It sweeps beautifully–the handle is sturdy and substantial, and the corn husks are stitched on with five rows of black heavy duty thread. The black handle paint is really well-done–this could be used as a high end Halloween prop. O’Cedar obviously made these with a well-thought-out design, quality materials and pride of workmanship. If I were a witch, this would definitely be my ride!

For all you people out there still using those wimpy plastic brooms that don’t actually sweep anything, this is what’s known as a “real” broom. It’s a broom like mom used, like grandpa used in the shed, like I used when my kids were little. It’s wide, it’s heavy-ish, it’s got FIVE rows of strong stuff holding all those corn stalks together. This is the real deal. Did I mention it sweeps, and I mean it sweeps EVERTHING and puts it in its place. You will never need another broom.
