Hello everyone. I got this Logitech Z906 speaker system in March of 2018. It’s been almost two months now. So I think I have tested the speaker system enough to give an honest review. This speaker system is awesome for the price. Really good clear sound from the lows to the highs. The bass is great from the subwoofer. Rattles my room at times. The voices are also very clear in the center channel. The system also gives you many different ways to hook up and audio source. 3.5 mm, RCA cables, 6 channel direct, 2 Optical Digital slots, coaxial Digital, I myself choose to use optical Digital for me needs. Also it comes with all the speaker wires you need to set up. TV shows, Movies, Games they all sounds incredible on this speaker system. If your looking for a good quality speaker system for a decent price this is the one. I really enjoy all my shows and movies on the Logitech Z906 speaker system.

After having these now for a couple months, and play testing them with many different games on my PC, and many different songs from my Mac… I can say these are ‘pretty darn good’.Apparently I’m a really picky snit with audio. I never thought of myself as an audiophile, but, I guess I am after how many cheap 5.1 systems I went through ramping up price each time to reach these are realize “these will do everything I need and sound great while doing it”.The sound is a bit immense too.I’m running them a tick below half, with the PC set to 90%… games continually sometimes get TOO loud and I’m adjusting in-game volumes of things down to around 70%. So many volume controls… I really should handle it better ;) But I like getting the speakers set to ‘one spot’, so I don’t have to mess with it… then I adjust other volumes in software. Then per-game/mp3 if it is playing to loud or too soft.ANYHOW….Great system. Love it.1) Loud (too loud).2) Rumbling (my poor 100year old windows rattle sometimes).3) Really crisp to hear the gnats buzzing and birds chirping while waiting to snipe an enemy.4) Lots of control over volume of each speaker set to help with how you place them.5) Multiple inputs for all kinds of devices to stay plugged in all the time*6) Decent remote that is not the size of a small car.7) Satellite speakers have heft to them, so they tend to stay put.So… do I have gripes? Hmm. Yes:1) I hate clamp plugs for wiring. I really really do (but luckily this came with pre-soldered wire tips to reduce the crazy-fray).2) I have to keep remembering to turn it off, or it idles sucking 25 watts and keeps itself warm ;)3) * My mac causes some light feedback buzz even when I switch to the PC input (but my mac has done this with many other speakers… so I think its just the mac… so I combat it by pulling the plug out of the mac if it becomes annoying).

I use this system as my main 5.1 home theater setup, as well as for my PC and consoles respectively. I had previously owned the 2.1 THX certified pair that Logitech sells (Z625) and it lasted me 15 years, and they sounded amazing as well. I bought this system because I needed a 5.1 setup, and the z625 blew me away so much that it was a no-brainer.After setting them up, I was still surprised about how amazing they sounded. And this was just with the speakers loosely placed on furniture. This is also the first time I’ve ever mounted speakers, I picked up three pairs of monoprice speaker mounts ($13 a pair) they’re actually really decent quality and I would recommend them. At least for this particular speaker set.Once they were on the wall mounted, it changed the sound again. Night and day difference, just something you have to experience yourself to understand.I’ve had absolutely no issues with any part of the system including the decoder. Remote works great, very few buttons but it’s functional. In my opinion, if you were to go out and buy speakers and receiver and do a theater set up that way, you’re spending a minimum of at least $1,200 to get close to how this sounds. As far as power and volume, I basically keep it at 50% anything beyond like 65% and it’s just extremely loud for no reason. Even at 50% it’s playing loud enough to rattle every picture frame on my wall.. on the other side of the house. (4 bedroom 2 story)I wish pleasantly surprised to see regular speaker jacks instead of RCA plug bullshit for speaker input. There’s not much else to say, this setup is amazing for call of duty or any game where you can locate anyone or anything by sound. Even turtle Beach headphones don’t hold a candle. Was pleasantly surprised about that as well. You will definitely forget that these are PC speakers. I do.I will come back in a few months with an update..I hope this helps someone, these speakers are amazing and don’t deserve the bad rap people give them.

When the box arrived, I thought it would be fairly light. I was wrong. So, I have added pictures for you to see what you are getting. I will talk briefly to each one.(1) This picture shows you how well they packet it. As you can see, there is not much cardboard.(2) This the overall view of the packed pieces.(3) Everything out of the plastic.(4) Everything a little more visible.(5) Here is the Subwoofer(6) Subwoofer front.(7) Subwoofer top.(8) Subwoofer Back(9) Subwoofer speaker jacks close up(10) Subwoofer control panel close up(11) Speakers front(12) Speaker rear(13) Control Console (cheap made compared to the other pieces)(14) Remote (cheap made compared to the other pieces). However, good batteries.(15) Close up of all the wire. I order extra speaker wire because I will run mine a different way.(16) Manual that came with it.(17) This was the strangest thing on the Amazon web. I guess the below competent is just an example of what you could do or the size of the control console. Because it is not in the box. LOLI have to write a second part to this to tell you about the sound. Due to ordering wiring. This should not be counted the product. My first impression is the all over product is excellent (minus what I said earlier).Check back for further review.Well, these speakers are awesome. Great sound! The only way to give them less then a 5-star review is if for some reason the product malfunctioned and no one helped out.Thank you, Logitech for a great product! Rock On!

Another masterpiece from LOGITECH 👍Got this for my friend to replace his old-school Onkyo analog big bulky sound system.Optical digital inputsTHX certified and Dolby Digital ComplianceWell made and all material feels rich and qualityFor the price, there is no other competitor for this quality of material and soundAmazing sound quality, clear, well toned and plenty of effects and options just makes it amazing.Games and dts movies are now much enjoyable and realistic.Definitely recommend Z906 for anyone looking for a best budget top notch quality. It will compete head to head woth bose or harman kardon easily. Definitely win on the price point.

Let’s start with the most important and telling fact: I just ordered a second set of these speakers. That’s how satisfied I am.I have had a set of these speakers for 14 months. I waited so long to review them because to be honest, the biggest problems with speakers (in my personal experience) do not pop up right away . . . and I’ve had plenty of problematic speakers. I won’t name names here, but I’ve had speakers that started sounding like a kazoo, a system where the subwoofer kept dying and coming back, the one where the subwoofer had a design flaw that melted down a vital connection, turning it into a brick for almost everyone who bought that system, the one where the subwoofer died, stayed dead, and took the rest of the system with it–all of these from top speaker manufacturers, mind you. Once a repairman told me concerning the last of those that it would be better to just buy another system, I decided to go with the company that had made that little portable speaker pair that had never failed me . . . Logitech. And to get the longest protection plan I could, just in case.Well, it looks like I might not be using the protection plan, because after over a year of constant use, I have not had problem #1 from these speakers. The sound is everything I would want, be it music, a movie, a game, or a voice chat. I am using the system on my bedroom computer. The highs are high, the bass is deep and rich. Put simply, the sound reproduction is superior to any system I have had, but let’s face it, that’s what’s to be expected, since it comes from more recent technology than all the previous systems I have owned. But what’s key is that the system sounds exactly the same, just as clear, with sounds just as distinct, as the day I first set it up. As I said above, the only problem is when the guy below me gets annoyed during an action scene of a movie (hey, I can’t help it if the soundproofing in this building is substandard (I can hear a cell phone on vibrate in the unit above mine!))I like the system so much that . . . well, I just bought a brand new TV set for the living room (which is above the utility room! The neighbor isn’t below that room!), and I decided to replace the bookshelf stereo system which had been serving my old dumb TV. It was a no-brainer that I should get another set of Logitech Z906 speakers. The only thing I see where there is room for improvement is scrolling through input sources (I have multiple devices feeding into the subwoofer/base station). Whether one is changing sources from the control unit directly or from the remote control, one can only scroll forward through all the inputs. It would be nice to be able to go backwards, scrolling up to the previous source rather than having to run through all of them to go back to the beginning.

These speakers are awesome. I had the older smaller 75 watt 5.1 logitech speakers and they lasted me about ten years for all kinds of things, music, movies, gaming, etc. They were a tremendous value. Unfortunately one of the satellites gave out and it was time to upgrade to their big brother. This model is awesome. It booms in my living room for anything, especially HD movies. I have no complaints on this at all and it barely needs to get over 50% for awesome sounding movies/games/music. My old speakers were ok, but now I can impress my friends when they come over for a movie. I also use an old skool creative xtreme sound blaster x-fi card which gives them a little bit more power then standard on board 5.1. Just in case you are using media player classic to watch movies, make sure you go into options and click on the normalize button. I have mine set to 350% amplification and regain volume applied. if you want to get the most bang for your buck and happen to use a PC as the center of your entertainment whether hooked up to a projector or big screen, these speakers are probably the best value you can get for your money. Speaker placement is important so make sure you do your homework before mounting these if that is what you are going to do. These things are placed at ear level around about an 18′ x 20′ room with the bass box under the desk and pulled out from the wall about six inches. Bass redirection is on. I have high 20ft. ceilings in this room and it is open on both areas of the living room and their is plenty of amplification and bass when watching movies.

Before I got this system, I purchase a 4k surround sound and amplifier for, I thought, the best experience possible. It failed in 3 months. I got it replaced. It failed in 4 months.I got this system because I couldn’t afford another 4k system. I could not be happier.I’m writing this review three months after purchase. The reason I’m writing the review is because I was watching Prometheus, when they entered into the Juggernaut, I jumped up to see if my kitchen had a leak. The surround sound is so freaking awesome…I am a person who buys stuff regardless of price, and only because of quality. This surround sound system is better than a system I paid for grand for. This system is highly recommended, if you want a superior surround sound system and you don’t want to pay the price, I recommend you get this.

I bought this Logitech system from Amazon, a good value for the price range, and posting a troubleshooting checklist due to so much misinformation and to assist resolving common problems.Doesn’t work at all: The subwoofer has a power cord, ensure the cord is plugged into an active electrical wall outlet and turned on.Some speakers work: Each cable is sheathed in plastic and stripped at the ends for electrical connection. Ensure the wires have ACTUAL electrical contact with the metal posts, and not clipped at the plastic sheath.Speakers suddenly stopped working: If you have a cat, dog, child, guest, etc, in your house, someonesomething knocked wires loose when you weren’t looking, ensure an electrical connection.Speakers not working continued: The master control panel has 6 different Input selections. For me with 5.1 surround sound on a PC, I use Input 1. However, ensure you’re selecting according to YOUR specific setup, and someone didn’t change the setting later. CAUTION: You could accidently hit that switch while changing the volume.Popping sounds or sudden popping noise: You’ve installed and enabled software with audio enhancements. Example, if you’re using PowerDud, you need to DISABLE audio enhancements to turn off the popping and crackling. Not loud enough: With speaker volume at 50% on the second floor of my home, my significant other is very unhappy because my speakers overpower her cooking shows downstairs. I can literally feel the bass on the floor, and I can hear my system standing outside my house.Want a system loud enough neighbors call the Police: This is not your system. Buy a DXX receiver, NXX preamp and amp, and PXX speakers.Warranty expired and suddenly stopped working: My old system is over 10 years old and still works, and why I bought this upgrade. You’re pushing too hard, refer to above.Other: A person posted photos of wires heshe poorly attached to disassembled speakers. Posted another photo of the center speaker upside down in a left corner. I have an electronics background from from the military, no idea what that person is doing. Just say NO to drugs.
