I installed two of these, one each on the lights for the front and back porch. I assigned each a schedule to come on at sunset and go off at sunrise. Now the house always looks lived-in, even if I’m not home. Touch operation is easy and instant if you want to bypass the schedule. The look is an improvement over the old toggle it replaces. Connection to WiFi is automatic and smooth. Installation is a piece of cake. The line and load wires (power in and out) are not labeled, which threw me off at first until I realized that the switch doesn’t care which direction the power flows. You need a white “netural” wire in the box, which all houses since the 1970’s have, and the neutral is usually stuffed way back in there, hard to dig out. The switch comes with new wire nuts, a nice touch. The face plate snaps off if you’re intalling into a ganged box. The Kasa is slightly large, but fits ok. If you’re using a ganged box and replacing an old-fashioned toggle, you also need to order a new faceplate. I recommend Enerlites, which is slightly flexible and won’t crack easily. In one case, I had to order a plain old (“dumb”) Leviton rocker switch to replace another toggle because I couldn’t find the right faceplate otherwise. Honestly, the hardest part of the whole installation is getting the face plate on because all three switches have to line up just right to the holes in the faceplate. Takes some fiddling. I have over a dozen Kasa products on my network now (bulbs, switches, plugs) and performance is rock solid. The only negative is almost zero customer support. No instructions. Uninformative online information. There are plenty of installation Youtubes, but if you run into trouble, you’ll have to call a friend. Integration with Alexa is seamless once you cross-connect the accounts. The only problems I’ve had are when Alexa loses its mind, which happens every couple of months. Kasa never fails.

I put this in a guest bathroom where the switch if on the far end and away from the hall door.akes it so easy to turn off a left on bathroom light. Just tell Alexa and the lights go out. If you have kids that don’t like to remember to turn off a light after they leave a room, this is awesome. Tales only a few minutes the install (it does fill up the gang box so you have to know what you’re doing, at least a little) this is a good product and I was able to purchase a combe plate cover for light switch and outlet for less than a dollar.Highly recommend.

I’m coming from the “WEMO” products…the KASA products are far superior! Installation is a breeze but you do need a NEUTRAL line (usually white) since this is what will keep the power to the switch when the lights are off. APP integration is extremely easy…as well as adding it to ALEXA. I was so tired of the WEMO and constantly having to reconfigure the switch to add it to the WEMO app. The KASA is so much easier and smoother…I highly recommend this smart switch system!

Bought one of these to control the porch light and set it to dawn-dusk and that was the beginning of a love affair. I had played around with smart plugs in a couple different brands, one brand very hard to get working and the other OK, thinking that switches would be too hard and too expensive. Wrong! The TP-Link Kasa line are AWESOME, and so easy. I was deterred at first by the requirement of a neutral wire but on inspection found that all the relevant electrical boxes had bundles of white neutral wires. Some of these were dauntingly big, and required a bigger wire nut and some effort to neatly contain all in the box, but it worked. So I came back to get one more switch, then another 3-pack, programed routines and groups…so happy, and have a large stock of now-unused smart plugs.

This is at least my second purchase of a Kasa smart light switch. I use one in various rooms in my house including my bathroom, living, room, and a dimmer version in my dining room. They are easy to install. Once it is added to the Kasa app, the Amazon Alexa app locates the new switch and adds it automatically. As noted, make sure that you have a neutral/white wire in the light switch box even if your current light switch doesn’t use or need it.

Don’t waste your time with other brands that either work inconsistently; not at all; or are overpriced for what they do. Kasa devices by TP-Link (some of the best wireless products for decades) are high-quality, affordable, always functioning perfect products. I replaced Feit brand sold at Costco (God only knows why since they don’t work) and now use about 30 different devices which ALWAYS work flawlessly with their well-designed app.

I bought this after buying another more expensive brand. This other switch kept disconnecting. This switch was less than half the price and works great. The app is easy to use.

I installed it for our porch light. I have many other plug controllers for the Kasa app on the iPhone and this works just as easily. Easy to program and setup. Easy to install if you know even basic electrical wiring. The app allows you to easily set the schedule to ON at Sunset and OFF at Sunrise, or set to any time schedule you want. I have mine come on a sunset and turn off at midnight.Just a heads up, if you have a much older house, do make sure you have a ground and not just a ground to a metal outlet box. You should have 3 wires coming out of the romex sleeve that is entering/exiting the box.

My house was built in 1958 and two years ago I decided to convert everything to smart technology. The house now runs off Alexa & Google Assistant. I’ve used a bunch of different brand switches throughout the house depending on the application. These switches are probably the cheapest and best switches you can get overall. For me personally, I also have a tp-link smart router. Which I bought to be able to accommodate the entire house. Smart technology includes cameras, Google TVs, Fire TVs, Echo Dots, Spot & Show as well as Flexes. And smart outlets. Even my Garage is run off these switches. Specifically the one I just bought does my garage lights as well as an outlet. Which can be used like a normal switch, or vocal. My garage has a Sonos speaker with Alexa enabled. Hope this helps.

Bought this as a “used like new” deal and this time it really was “used like new” so Im happy enough. This switch is very easy to install as long as you know at least the basics about electrical systems. This switch is not a dimmer switch so keep that in mind. Its only going to turn your application on and off. Also, this switch connects to its own app which then Amazon connects to in order to be able to use it with Alexa or Google. I just mention that for people like me who now have 5 or more different brands of smart devices, all of which demand that you install their app on your phone. Your phone can start getting a little crowded.
