Fantastic bookshelf size speakers. The wood accents are beautiful and not cheap for sure. The sound is pretty “flat/somewhat true” meaning the drivers aren’t putting any extra bass; the way I like it. Wish the cones were Kevlar (not for the sound but for durability), but for the price it’s totally okay. I will buy another pair after I try the current set for a month or two for a small studio monitoring. I will recommend these speakers to people who are looking for something affordable yet look quite expensive. This review is only for the “passive” speakers I wouldn’t know anything about the active speakers “801s pm”.

Had a pair of PSB Alpha 3 speakers, and has very high acclaim for them – on a whim, I decided to try these Jamo speakers, and I was very surprised. The clarity of them tweeter surpasses the PSB without harshness, and surprising bass from a 4″ posted speaker. For less than $110.00 a pair, I simply dont know what can compete with these speakers. And magnetic grills? Wow!
JaimeVR –
Without a hitch. They have excellent sound, it surpasses more expensive speakers. Very good construction. I connected them to my Linn Majik and I couldn’t stop smiling once I heard them.

I didn’t expect this pair of speakers would satisfy me as the speaker case looks ‘inexpensive’ and the size is smaller than I expected. It does meet my need after I connect it with my Quad Vera integrated amp. I buy this because the amp needs speakers with lower sensitivity to avoid the pop noise when I play the music with bluetooth connection. The woofer runs great as I don’t expect a 4 inch small power woofer runs as good as a larger one. Good pair of speakers for the small hi fi system.

Really good sound reproduction. Bass, treble, and mid range well balanced. Good construction. Easily recommend this to others

I have the S807 for the fronts and these for the rearsI picked the S801 instead of S803 because they were smaller, lighter and easier to mount on wallsthe mounts i used had clamps on the sides for large bookshelves and these speakers have a trapezoid shape to them where front is slightly smaller than the rearwhich is perfect for this type of mount i am usingin combination, with the speaker pointing slightly downwards, it will not slide further down because the rear is wider than the frontas for sound quality, i still miss my Pioneer Andrew Jones…weaker in mids but it isnt too bad for a M shaped sound profile speakerlooks great though, high wife acceptance factor with or without the grill

Great deal! Paid $80 for open box like new condition!! Totally worth it!!

These little speakers are awesome! MORE than enough for my office setup. In the photo is a bracket that came attached to the speaker for hanging. (I saw someone ask a question about whether they could be hung or not…)Well worth the money!

I bought a complete surround system replacement for my aging and not so great Bose AM15 sat/sub system. I broke my wife’s rule of “no furniture speakers”. (She finally stopped complaining about how ugly they were.” After years of “suffering” with the sonic “hole” problems of my old Bose system, I bought the Jamo Studio S system based upon a top review in “Sound and Vision” Magazine.I got the L/R 809 towers, the 801’s for surrounds, the S 81 Center and the S8 Atmos speakers that mount on top of the 809 speakers for a nice clean look. Price was less than half of what I spent on the Bose system many years ago. Per the Sound and vision review, you need a Sub to really fill out the low end. I already had a 10″ Sub, so this was not an issue for me. More than pleased with my new and full sounding 5.1.2 Atmos surround system. Also of note these speakers are made by Klipsch, a respected name in quality speakers.

Smallish, but very full, clear sound. Obviously, no real bass, but add a subwoofer, or get a larger speaker. Good materials and well made. Works for me…a bargain.
