   “Powered” is the key word for this product. Which means no loss in signal. Have this connected from a Samsung TV into a Samsung sound bar and into and a Sennheiser RS 175 headphones. No loss in power of sound to either. One input and three output…nice.

   I was looking to buy a new TV when I discovered that the newer TV’s only have one audio out port and it’s optical. On my older Samsung I had a sound plate hooked up to the optical port and then Sennheiser 160 headphones hooked to audio out jack and that worked. I love my headphones because i’m getting hard of hearing. While I couldn’t use the old headphones because they don’t have an optical option, I decided to purchase a new set of Sennheiser 175 headphones with optical connection and this splitter that another reviewer somewhere recommended to split the optical signal between the headphones and the soundplate so I didn’t have to keep plugging and unplugging the various outputs into the optical port. I ordered it before buying a new TV to see if it would work and it worked beautifully on my current TV. I connected both the sound plate and the new headphones to this device and then the splitter to the TV and both worked. I left the speaker setting on the TV as TV speaker, instead of optical as others suggested because when I changed it to OPTICAL only the sound plate worked. I then lowered the TV volume to zero and both my sound plate and the headphones worked at the same time so that when my family was around they could hear the sound from the TV while i listened through my headphones. So now I’m going to go buy a new larger screen TV since I know this set up will work. This little splitter is worth it for only $21.00 plus the price of the connection cable – be sure to buy a cable to connect the devise to the TV, it is not provided but only $5 on Amazon. The worse case scenario would have been it wouldn’t have worked and i’d have to buy a new HDMI sound bar for the new TV in order to use the optical port for the headphones. But it did work and saved me a bunch of money. Solved my problem and i couldn’t be happier because I figured it out myself and it works!

   This review is for the JTech 4×2 matrix, NOT the cable splitter. As noted by many, the item is well made, very compact, and has a remote, and AC adapter. My specific requirement was to split the optical audio signal from my Sony HDTV to a ZVox 440 sound base and Yamaha RN-303 receiver.Read the instructions. You can input 4 audio sources (Input 1, 2,3,4), and send the signals to 2 Outputs (Output A/Output B). In my case, Input 1 was the Sony optical audio signal, and Output A was the ZVox, and Output B was the Yamaha. Hooking up was a snap. Some have not been pleased with the brightness of the display, but I am fine with it. The unit has an on/off button, and buttons to manually change the set up, or you can use the remote. The remote is very small and thin, but the buttons are big enough. Suggest you be careful and place the remote in a safe place, as it could get misplaced because it is so small. This matrix is as advertised, as it does the job, and the audio signals are strong and I have not experienced any hint of sound loss.I highly recommend this unit. You may be shocked at its compact size, but the JTech folks have brought us an exceptional solution for those seeking to port optical audio signals, without using Y cable/splitters. Also, the JTech technicians and customer service folks are a simple phone call away to aid you with any questions or problems you may encounter.Buy it with confidence.

   Delivered promptly, easy set-up with very clear and precise instructions, works great. Since this is for a fixed installation, I recommend a powered unit (such as this one) rather than a non-powered unit. Apparently, the non-powered units split the input signal into two weaker output signals. The powered units (such as this one) add power to the signal, resulting in the input signal being split into multiple full-power output signals.

   I am so happy with this splitter. My Samsung TV came with a box called “One Connect”. The TV connects to the One Connect box then all other cables connect to the One Connect Box, which only has one optical connection. I had my Bose soundbar connected to it. I have 2 Seinnhauser headphones, which I had to plug into my DirecTV receiver because they use RCA connections. This was not working well for me because I was unable to watch Netflix, Hulu and Prime video with my headphones until I got this splitter. I connected the TV optical cable to the splitter “IN”, connected the Bose soundbar to the “A” output, the headphones to the “B” output and next will connect my husband’s hearing aids “TV Adapter” to the “C” output. EVERYTHING WORKS!!! The sound is great on every device. I know this looks like a big cable mess, I have some work to do to clean it up. I highly recommend this device.

   A few weeks ago, I purchased the one other splitter that Amazon sold (as well as all of the other online electronics retail stores I searched). The other splitter is sold under different brand names but it’s the same exact device, so be warned.Anyway, I was at my wit’s end. With a brand new TV and only one optical audio connection (seriously, TV designers?), I was constantly switching out the connections between my soundbar and my headphones. It was a pain in the butt, not to mention, I was concerned I would damage the connections over time. So in a last attempt to find a solution, and a whole lot of website hopping, I found this.I really didn’t want another electrical item plugged in. In fact, I don’t have room so I’ve had to purchase a larger surge protector. As well as another optical cable to go from the device to the TV because heaven forbid they provide even a 3′ one. (Those add-on items make the companies money, don’t ya know?) Whatever. It’s worth it because now I can use my soundbar, my headphones, both at the same time if I so choose, and I don’t have to mess around behind the tv with the connections.The sound is excellent. No loss of signal or quality. The connections are easy, just make sure you have another optical cord and room to plug in the AC adapter.

   This provides and excellent solution when you have a TOS output you need to amplify and split between the input to two or three devices. I have a 30 foot TOS cable (output) that I I needed to split between an amplifier and a TOS-to-RCA converter. I first tried a passive splitter (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076PJR57S/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1) that introduced so much optical loss one of the two amplifiers inputs did not recognize the optical signal. This device solved the problem. :-)Two notes: 1) The TOS-to-RCA converter (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AWBA8U8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and this splitter are both powered by 5v bricks with 5.5 x 2.1 barrel jacks. Since I had a 2.5 USB power supply I purchased a pair of USB to barrel jack cables (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078YRHNVR/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and eliminated both bricks, freed up two ac outlets 2) VERY IMPORTANT – there are customer reviews and complaints describing this device as a switch. It might be that the product has the wrong reviews. This is a splitter. All splitter takes the input signal and splits it to all three outlets simultaneously.

   I have an LG TV with one optical out that is connected to my Yamaha soundbar. I wanted to simultaneously connect a new iSelector Bluetooth transmitter (for headphones) and my Yamaha soundbar so that they both worked at the same time. The J-Tech powered splitter (1 in and 3 out) solved the problem. Simply plug in the J-Tech’s input to my LG optical out then plug in the ISelctor and the Yamaha soundbar into their respective out ports on the J-Tech. Plug in the J-Tech to give it power and you are done. It was easy to install and solved a problem of simultaneously transmitting sound to my Bluetooth transmitter to my headphones and to my Yamaha Soundbar. The sound quality is excellent. Installation took about a minute. Build quality is great and the unit is very light so it hangs from the back of my TV out of sight. I also now have one more optical port if I ever need it.I would highly recommend this unit if your problem is similar to mine.

   I had ordered a different type of splitter with the intent of being able to take the single optical output cable from my TV to a signal splitter that allowed me to have 2 optical outputs – one for my TV ears & – one for a Bose sound bar. Unfortunately that product did not work as expected. I therefore purchased this unit & it does the job perfectly with no loss of signal strength. You do however have to buy an optical cable to hook the splitter to the TV which is not a issue.

    My TV only had 1 optic audio out port. Sound bar needed one, my hearing aid streamer for the TV needed one. This allowed me to split sound so both work at the same time.
