The media could not be loaded.  This was my first Geekoto product. Geekoto is a new company that specializes in the manufacture and sale of photography products at an affordable price. Overall, I’m very impressed with this tripod. It’s well-built, solid, and sturdy. It’s also really lightweight, which makes traveling and hiking with it easy to do. Best of all, it can convert into a monopod, which is majorly helpful when in the field, since it’s essentially two pieces of equipment for the price and size of one.I have to admit, I was skeptical at first. But I’m definitely impressed with what Geekoto is doing here, and I’d be interested to see more of their photography products. The only con I have with this particular model is that it’s 58″ high. I’m 5’10” and I felt this tripod was a little short for me. Fortunately, Geekoto offers a taller tripod. So if you’re 5’7″ and above, I’d go with the taller tripod.Absolutely worth the price. If you’re into photography, videography, hyperlapsing, or hiking to remote spots to take great shots, this tripod is for you.5 stars.

I’m very happy with the tripod. This was my first time doing photography on a trip. I visited Yosemite, Kings Canyon, Grand Canyon, Zion, etc.The tripod is light enough to do moderate hikes. It has a very good stability and the best part is that you can set it up quicky since the poles adjust with just a click. The materials feel sturdy and good.I would recommend it if you are a beginner and dont want to spend 200 bucks on a good tripod.

First off, GEEKOTO is one bomb tripod. I’ve been looking at many different tripods before I bought one, and ended up getting this, and he doesn’t disappoint! I’ve had GEEKOTO for about a month and travelled from North American to Australia with him, and he was with me at all times (on the plane that is). He is small, light weight, and has some style to him. ladies love him, other tripods want to be him. He can get down low, but never dirty, but can also hang out at your eye-level. He is super easy to clean. I went to do some sunrise shots on the beach the other day, and we were standing in the sand. He got sand all up in his locking mechanism, and I took him apart within minutes to clean him up, let him dry, and put him back together. He is tough, too. I knock him on rocks, hit him on bricks, and have dropped him once, and still works like a charm. He has some scuffs, but nothing major! For what he is, he is very sturdy, compact, and lightweight! An amazing product at an amazing price point.Don’t have to sell the leg to get this thing.

I’m a professional photographer with demanding needs. I evaluated this tripod and found it to be an exceptional buy in its price range. Very sturdy and well-built and equal to a tripod costing over a hundred more. I love the ball head and the monopod option and love how lightweight it is. Perfect for my trip to Cuba! Only concern is the plastic clamps on the leg extenders. But, it was a $70 tripod. It over delivers on quality. I highly recommend but get the larger one!

I should have purchased this or something professional like this many years ago. In the last 10yrs I have been through at least 4 tripods. But the last 4 were cheap 20$ brands from Best Buy. This is well worth the investment and saves time in aggravation. Very sturdy and lightweight at same time. The ball joint is amazing and helps with the best angle for the perfect shot. I use it for YouTube vlog production and I am not disappointed at all.

I bought it for hikes, and it works well in that regard. It’s light-weight (weighs half of what my old tripod weighs) and is easy to use. It’s not the most sturdy, especially in windy conditions, but I’m OK with the trade-off of having a light-weight, compact, flexible tripod for carrying on hikes vs. a more sturdy but bulky tripod.

While note the lightest or the quickest to set up, this Tripod is actually amazing for the price. I’ve been using it for a few months now and I have to say that it works out much better than previous tripods I had. It’s a big clunky and takes up a lot of space when I’m traveling, but it’s not too big a deal as there are much worse options at this price range and for lighter and smaller compacted items you’ll pay a much higher price. So far I haven’t experienced any of the ‘grease’ issues that others are complaining about, so that might just be from a faulty product or damage from not taking care of it. Over all I’ve already recommended this to a friend that also loves photography and is just starting out.

After using my trusty Velbon for twelve years, the head finally cracked open on me, so I decided it was time to get a new tripod, and I just happened to stumble upon Geekoto, so I decided to give them a shot. Overall, I am quite pleased with the build quality and ergonomics of the tripod!ProsExtremely light! The tripod is a ridiculously light two pounds! That makes it very easy for me to stick into my backpack and not worry about it.Geekoto also provides a nifty carrying case.Great construction. For such a light tripod, it is quite sturdy for holding cameras, and there is no play whatsoever when the legs are extended all the way.Good quality head! It reminds me of using Gitzo heads. Once you tighten the head, there is little to no wiggle, and it allows me to get the exact shot that I composed. Also, very smooth action when panningMonopod Functionality. This is probably the first tripod I’ve seen that can be used as a monopod. While I don’t find myself needing to use a monopod often, I’ll definitely be trying it out more often.ConsNot any that I can think of off the top of my head. The only small complaint that I have is that the quick release is plastic, but that’s a small issue, and you just have to be careful.Check out my attached long exposure photos!

I purchased this tripod so that I could take photos and videos of my dog in a field without having to hold the camera as I throw her frisbees. So far it is well made and has not given my any issues. I would purchase this again, but I think this tripod will hold up for a long time.

Update: This company has great customer service! They sent me a replacement which has no issues with the ballhead. It works perfectly. There is no wobble. It’s not very durable. No matter how much I tighten the knobs the camera still wobbles on the ball head. It’s also short. May be ok for a small, lightweight mirror less camera but it still wobbles on the ballhead.
