I wasn’t sure how fast it would make ice but it fills the tub in less than 2 hours. I am able to fill up gallon freezer bags for extra. I have only had it 1 day so I will repost in a few months….

This machine was a replacement for the previous model that broke. It’s much quieter! We’re obsessed with it. I hope it lasts longer than the two years the previous one lived. But if it doesn’t, we’ll still buy another! Is it dramatic to say we can’t live without it? Ok then I’ll say we don’t want to live without it. Oh one tip, USE DISTILLED WATER. Keeps it from getting gunked up with tap water junk.

Purchased the product and put it to use right away! It has been a great hit at parties and people love the nuggets it produces. The ice is made rather rapidly and it has become a talking piece in our bar in the house!

This is my second Opal. First one lasted 3 years and probably would have lasted longer if I had used filtered water and cleaned the unit more often. The ice is excellent quality and perfect for cold drinks as well as a bum knee! It is a bit noisy and generates a bit of heat. Noises can be creepy late at night. But totally worth it.

In my opinion it is almost Sonic ice. But short of buying a Sonic or a Sonic ice machine I don’t think you can get any closer. Glad I finally bought one.

I absolutely BATTLED with the first version of this ice maker and exchanged them thru amazon THREE TIMES…they lasted between 2 and 6 months. It was a TERRIBLE machine that made great ice every now and then. Amazon did not have the 2.0 last year so I bought this somewhere else, but I have had ZERO problems since last summer, and that is a miracle. We run this, and I kid you not, almost 24/7 and not once has it stopped working. I use the side tank from the 1.0 with no issues whatsoever. If this is available to you through Amazon, they were totally in my corner with 1.0 and I would have zero issues ordering it from them if I did not already own it. In short avoid the 1.0 first generation and go with the 2.0. Incredible machine.

People who complain of the “noise” are dense human beings and don’t understand engineering. Like…doesn’t your washing machine make noise?! How insatiable. This ice machine is incredible and I’m in love!!

This ice machine came carefully packaged and in good condition. It was easy to install and doesn’t take much counter space. The cleaning sequence was easy and before long we had a container of ice ready to be used throughout the day. As you scoop out ice, it senses the need to make more. We fill the water tank each day and forget about it. Couldn’t be easier.
