I know many people give their pets too many treats. Which is not necessarily good. But if you are going to, at least get them treats like Greenies that help their teeth. They can be a little expensive compared to most treats, but if you see a sale, jump on it. These are big enough that your cats will have to chew them, as intended. Although one of my cats does try to eat them whole, so be careful if you have a cat like that. The large size could present a choking hazard so you might want to break them in half first. Of, if you know your cat doesn’t chew treats, you can skip these since at best, they really aren’t providing the teeth cleaning and at worst, there is always the (probably small) possibility that they can choke on them.

The veterinarian says that Mr Festus’s teeth are much cleaner than usual. I’ve been using these dental treats for about two years. I usually throw them down the hall one at a time and he runs after them and just loves it. Great exercise for a lazy meower.I’ve have even hand fed these dental treats and of course he inhales them.Your meower will get to like them over time if not immediately like my kitty. But you will hear that crunching sound as they are unknowingly helping you save the co$t of an expen$ive vet bill.Great value

All he ever wants is greenies. I lure him indoors with promises of geeenies. Hes always trying to break in. He knocks them off the fridge.

Do you have a cat? Does it shun any other treat and looks at you askance? Get these and you will be the most popular person in Catdom. My cat can be belly up sound asleep, and if I even THINK about getting the bag to give him a treat, he’s instantly at my feet screaming at me “GIB TREATOS NAAAOOOOOOOWWWWW!” Srsly, he just came running, even though I’m nowhere near the bag right now. My kid taught him to sit, lie down, and shake with these. For those new to cats, yeah, they don’t do tricks. They just look at you in disdain when you try to teach them, and then show you their butt. Especially this cat. If you want your cat to pretend to like you, get them some Greenies.

Our cat, Fonzie, loves the Greenies Tuna dental treats. I don’t know if they clean his teeth but they say hard treats and hard food are better for teeth than soft or chewy things. The Fonz and Lucy both like the these and I feel like it is better for them than other treats.Amazon asked me to rate the flavor. Lol. I haven’t tried them but the cats do love them and beg for them. I guess they deserve a good rating for flavor but I want to make a full disclosure that I have not tasted them. :-)I like the size because they are big enough that the cat needs to chew a little instead of just inhaling them like a dog. You can expect some crunching action that supposedly cleans the teeth.

My older cat had a tooth abscess and had to have it surgically removed…..very $$$. The vet told me to give her these to help keep her teeth clean. (Old girl would never submit to have me brush them!!!!) Anyway, she begs me every day for these tuna flavored ones….and my 2 other cats come running to get theirs too! We make a game of it and I’ll throw them down the hallway and the old gal actually runs for them! She normally just plods along slowly. The other cats get their share too but they don’t run. I can’t get a good deal on them here on Amazon in the large plastic container any more, but the smaller packs are still cheaper than the grocery store.

I have three cats, 1 5-years-old and 2 seniors (1 is 9 [10.5 lbs]. The oldest one is almost 14 [12 lbs]). Obviously, for older cats, teeth issues are an issue for the older cats but honestly, my vet said all cats old enough should start a dental program to stave off future teeth issues. My 5-year-old already has signs of tartar buildup that’s being watched along with the other two. The 14-year-old had most of his teeth removed months before I adopted him from a co-worker but had signs of awful breath a few months later.Per my Vet’s recommendation, all my cats only get Hills Science, 1/4, 2x day. I get a mix of Hills for my seniors [Senior/Sensitive, Hairball w/ Urinary control, and Dental–all mixed up in a container] and similar for my younger cat, [Hairball w/ Urinary control and Dental–all mixed up in a container]. They never get any other treats as I know excessive amounts can lead to obesity. All my cats each get 8 per day x 2 (16 total) per the instructions. I just mix into their AM/PM bowls of kibble (and yeah, they def know the Greenies are in there as they eat those first, lol). For now, since it’s still cold and cats do need a little more food during colder months, I do not reduce the amount of kibble when adding the treats to their meals as they need the extra calories to stay warm. But, once it starts getting warmer, I’ll be sure to reduce the kibble amount I give them, which is easy for me to do since I just add the treats in with their food vs giving it to them as ‘treats’ during the day. (They beg enough for food as it is, I don’t need to encourage them to beg more often!)Oh-key-dokey, so my 14-year-old…the last few months, whenever he’d groom himself, it STANK to high heaven. I could literally smell it when he’d groom next to me and I knew it had to be about his teeth since he had problems before I adopted him.So, on his last visit, the Vet stated his remaining teeth are already showing signs of some buildup but nothing to be too worried about for now, they’d keep an eye out. She recommended this brand as she herself uses them on all of her pets and she said these treats actually do help with bad breath and reducing tartar buildup. It’s not super expensive either so I gave it a shot. She also encouraged me to give to all my cats as part of a preventative measure, so that really sealed it for me.I mean, for only a couple of days, all I can attest to these treats that it has FIXED THE BAD BREATH of my 14-year-old like he never had an issue. I was…shocked, amazed, relieved! I have high hopes it’ll help with all of my cats’ tarter issues but won’t know till their next vet visit but I’m impressed so far.

I moved to these treats to combat the offensive mouth odor of my older cat (of two cats). Took a few months to notice any improvement, but the odor is now effectively gone (a year later). I assume the plaque build-up (before I really clued in to the source of the problem) took that long to mitigate because of the build-up time of 4/5 years before I found these treats (previously tried a couple of others; were ineffective, ref: halitosis). My younger cat (an alley rescue, at ~12 weeks old; now, ~ 1 1/2 yr old) has been on it since I got him; and has never developed any halitosis. Effective stuff, in that respect. Oh… and did I mention that my cats LOVE this stuff?! :-) More so than others I’ve tried.

My cat came to me with most of her teeth already pulled. I wanted to save the remaining ones so I use a periodontal tooth powder in conjunction with these Greenies. The combo works really well, and she loves the Greenies! In fact, the photo is her reaction after I threw out an empty small Greenies packet! These are a winner in our house.I will say that by the time I get to the bottom of the large jar, the greenies smell a little like Play-Doh. I guess because the cat only gets four per day, they might start going a little stale. But the cat does not mind the smell, and they aren’t “gone bad.” I’m storing them in a cooler place to see if that helps.

My cats eat these stinky things every day & both have very healthy teeth so they must work!I don’t personally know if they taste good, but seeing as how both my cats freak out about them and wolf them down, I’m guessing they’re pretty tasty if you’re a cat.My dog has been known to unintentionally eat a few on occasion so apparently dogs find them appetizing as well.I don’t recommend feeding them the recommended amount on the tub. It’s an absurd amount. I cut that number roughly in half & both my kitties have terrific dental health.Overall, greenies were recommended by our vet & I do think they work!
