   Great buy, for a great price. These little speakers replaced some old yamaha speakers that a previous owner had set up for exterior sound. Bought two pairs (100w versions), installed them in series (the brackets while flimsy when just holding them, are really quite sturdy when screwed to the wall/rafters – especially with using wood screws), and gave them a test run.Pros: – small – Inconspicuous – Loud (can be heard at the other end of the farm without much trouble) – Really good sound for outdoor speakers that cost this little.Con:- Wire connection in the back is weak. It is really easy to accidentally pull out the speaker wire after it has been connected (Dual really just needs to make the spring a little stronger)I definitely recommend these speakers. Not sure how my neighbors feel… but they are a hill away… so probably won’t ever find out.

   Beautiful to look at and beautiful to hear.Only one set of screws for one bracket. No second bracket, no hardware to mount second speaker, and no thumb screws anywhere in the box! What the heck?Customer service advises to send the item back to Amazon for refund or replacement.I did not keep the box, and am unwilling to go for another month or more of waiting.Great sound, but should have just paid the extra money for something in a regular store.UPDATE 12/20/2021 Oh My GodThe speakers I ordered….there were two speakersEach uses 2 (two) thumbscrews.I had none in my shipment.The box I received today had two (2), for only one (1) speaker.I still have ZERO (0) mounting screwsAfter numerous emails and sending proof of purchase and repeating what was missing from the shipment, why should ANYONE have to wit this long for satisfactory service?

   These speakers are slightly smaller the the Yamaha outdoor speakers I have on a different outside wall of my garage, but the sound seems comparable. I got the Yamahas using hotel points. Looking at their price I could buy 3 sets of these. I’ve only had them up for about a month, but so far they seem to be doing fine. If they hold up over the winter, I’ll try to remember to bump them up to 5 stars.UPDATE: Feb 2022 – as promised I’m bumping these up to 5 stars. I have these mounted outdoors on a west facing wall of my garage in NE Indiana. They’ve worked great so far. I’m getting ready to switch out my Pioneer receiver for a better one, and noticed that these operate at lower resistance than the 8 ohm output I was feeding them. Not sure how correcting my setup will affect the sound, but should definitely be better for my receiver, as I have several speaker pairs set up in varying configurations.

   I was looking for some cheap speakers to put in the garage for when I’m working in there. I searched garage sales and pawn shops. I didn’t want to drop $50-100 for speakers to gather dust in my garage and get used 20 or 30 times a year. A quick Google search and reading reviews. These sounded perfect. I gave them a try.I’m thrilled. I know these are 12″ subs or 4″ mids. They’re a weather proof 3 way speaker. They handle the music from my amp/receiver and work great. I used them for about 2 weeks daily while refinishing an antique desk. No complaints and meet my expectations.Here’s the short version. If you’re looking for simple speakers to listen to music and aren’t looking for high end/high priced dynamic speakers. Buy these! They’re equally comparable to small/medium bookshelf speakers and work great. I’d buy them again. If I end up wiring my patio for speakers I’d buy these to put outside.

   These speakers were reduced to about $20 per pair so on a hunch, we picked up two sets. Dual was a company that made many great stereo products, I still have a Dual turntable of my Dad’s that works great. The speakers arrived in an Amazon shipping box. They were well packed in the OEM carton but it’s doubtful they would’ve survived the shipping experience in that original box. All of the mounting gear was present and enclosed in plastic to keep it from getting scratched.I hooked these to a Pioneer Dolby quad system, and was really pleased with the range, bass and volume these little boxes pump out, and for only $20-something per set!? I’ve paid much more for other brands that don’t sound nearly as good as these do. Not that we intend to put these sets outside, but if that’s what one wanted, the quick-release mount makes it easy to take them down and out of the rain. Have set up both sets on amplifiers and stereos with different wattage and volume levels, and though they aren’t equal to my studio monitors, they are great little performing speakers. Dual still has what it takes. If I catch them on special again, they’ll make nice gifts, so they get a solid 5 Stars.

   I bought these speakers in July 2011 to mount on the back of our house, so that we can enjoy music on our deck and in our backyard. I paid a bit less for these than they are currently listed for, but I’d gladly pay the current listing price because they have exceeded my expectations tremendously. We live in Connecticut and we can have brutal heat and humidity during the summer and can have brutally cold, snowy, icy winters. We have never taken the speakers down and they show it on the outside, but they still work great. They are not Bose, so don’t expect the best sound quality, but really the sound quality isgood and is perfect for what we use them for. We are not having raging parties with booming loud music. We are parents with young kids who like to hang out in the backyard with friends and family while music is playing in the background…and occasionally the kid versus adult dance-off. :). My husband and I were just talking about how great these speakers have been and I realized I’d never written a review for them, so here I am. Really, these are great little outdoor speakers!

   I have these in 2 completely different environments and they have exceeded my expectations.I have 1 set at my beach house where the air is damp and it is hot foe most of the summer. They are powered by a small amp with BT adapter there. The small amp makes them soind excellent on the outside patio. They also held up all summer with zero issues being outside. Like damp, windows stuck shut, you stuck to uour sheets type humidity.Pair #2 is in my garage at home. Dry and climate controlled for the most part. They perform just fine. I have them on a switch, piggy backing off my powerful sony receiver. I do not have direct volume control over these individual speakers currently but still sound great. That is my only gripe there but that is easilly fixable if i wanted to.That being said … Depending on what your expectations and setup, these are 100% worth the $ from a value/sound standpoint and are very adaptable. I would buy another set tomorrow if need be for similar projects and sound needs.These get 5 stars for what they are, what they should be used for and the price point.Do not think you are getting into a full boston acoustic theatre sound system, etc. These are solid mid tier outdoor speakers that will crank with a small amp if set up properly.

   Decent speakers for the money. I replaced some old KLH speakers that were comparable to these, they were really old as in 1990’s old, but I had only used them since 2004. I was lucky and was able to use the existing KLH mounting brackets so that made installation a breeze. Anyway, for an inexpensive set of outdoor speakers these are pretty much your only option and they are worth it. Next step up would be the yamaha or Klipsch which run around $100 or a little less. The weak point of these speakers are the spring loaded wire terminals. In my opinion I think they should have made them just a little more robust. The clips are spring loaded, and if you are not careful, the terminal button will pop out. It’s easy to put it back in, so not all is lost if this happens. Some suggestions when you hook them up:1) Strip the speaker wire a little long. The way the spring clips work is they just push the wire in the opposite directions of the spring tension, and hope that the wire touches the metal conductor on the other side. If you don’t have enough exposed wire, it won’t get a good connection.2) Be very gentle when opening and handling the spring clip while inserting the speaker wire. The spring clips are somewhat fragile in the sense that they are not a robust design (without calling them cheap). If you are careful, it will work.Final thoughts: the speakers sound good. For the money, you get what you paid for. The weak link in these speakers are the speaker wire terminals, so handle them in a way that reflects their fragile nature. I’m not sure why they didn’t just use screw terminals, it probably would have been cheaper to manufacture, and being outdoor speakers, it would have helped the speaker wire that in under the screwed down terminal to avoid tarnishing which eventually degrades the circuit.

   These are really nice sounding, well built speakers. Their installation is easy and versatile, either with the included sturdy brackets or can simply hang on the wall directly via the screw hole. Construction is solid and they have a bit of weight. The composite plastic material with which they’re built should see them withstand the elements – but that’s not how I’m using them. I’m using them indoors as mains in my store room setup, with a separate 8-inch sub that complements their sound. They do sound really good, though. There is some bass and the heights are not harsh at all. No distortion at high volumes from my Sony receiver. Nice clean sound. Highly recommend.

    I’ve had these speakers for 8 years. The sit on an outdoor wall, exposed to the elements on a windy corner patio is NYC. They’ve survived 2 hurricanes, 2 tornadoes, snowmageddon, snowpocalypse, Bloomberg, de Blasio, and some pretty intense heat. I haven’t taken them down or covered them in the winter, and they still sound great. Only now are the grilles starting to rust. Hard to go wrong at this price.
