The media could not be loaded.  The only reason I even considered the Bissell ZING was because a good friend sung its praises endlessly during a recent phone call…and this is a friend who doesn’t get excited about vacuums or other household appliances. And we don’t have the type of adult friendship where the merits and joys of specific vacuum cleaner models is ever a topic of conversation. So I figured: my good friend (whose judgment and disposition I trust without question, and someone who doesn’t have a cheapskate bone in his body) out of the blue explains how much he loves a little green bagless vacuum cleaner priced 75% below the vacuum models he and I typically buy. At this price and with this effusive endorsement, what do I have to lose? I bought mine a short time later, after doing a bit of homework just in case my friend lost his mind.My verdict after the first week or so of use? This ZING is terrific. The suction is strong enough to power through a shag carpet I have in my study, and versatile enough to clean the tile and hardwood surfaces of the floors in our home. The push-button power cord retraction feature is super-useful (and spares me the mess of a spool of cord to manually wind around the back of the upright assembly. The bagless canister is designed for simplicity, ease of emptying, and hassle-free access to the three parts that require periodic removal and cleaning. The buttons and latches are clearly marked and intuitively placed, so there’s no need to keep the manufacturer’s user manual handy: just think intuitively, and you’ll get it.TIme will tell how the motor and power system hold up, and if loss of suction becomes a problem. But given the outstanding performance and overall experience so far—and a price that is almost suspiciously affordable—I’m more than willing to give this vacuum a shot and use it wherever I need to in the coming weeks and months. If anything changes or my experience falters for some reason, I’ll amend this review with details. For now, I’m a happy and enthusiastic ZING owner.

So our robot vacuum doesn’t get into the corners (what?! A Round vacuum can’t clean a corner??), also I can’t exactly carry around a huge heavy vacuum- hence the robot in the first place.Enter the Bissell Zing.Despite some mixed reviews, I decided to go for it since it was So cheap, on Amazon, and a trusted brand. Our house is Primarily Hardwood with carpet in the bedrooms and stairs. Let me tell you, this thing is Amazing. It’s So lightweight, not even 10lbs; it wouldn’t matter much anyway bc of the huge wheels on the canister base. I can just pull it along behind me, no problem. Then there’s the suction, I use it with 1 pole on and the focus/baseboard attachment on it. There’s So much suction power, you can actually clean your hairbrushes with this vacuum cleaner. (My hair is nearly to my waist… so you can imagine)And for the first time ever I feel confident cleaning the darn canister. Which of course the hubs is over the moon about. I mean it’s like picking up a coffee mug and pressing a button, then the bottom falls out! why can’t they all be that easy.It would be cool if it came with some long plastic tweezers to grab up inside around the filter… I guess you can’t have it all though can you.So if you are needing a supplementary vacuum to get your corners, baseboards, walls, windows, fans, etc. and/or you have Primarily hard floors and/or you or someone in the household has an excessive length/amount of hair…I would absolutely recommend this product to you.:)

I bought this vac specifically for hardwood/laminate floors and, adjusting the head for same, it performs very well. In fact, as others have mentioned, it has considerable suction. On short nap carpets it is, to me, OK, if one opens the valve on the handle to reduce the suction at the head. Otherwise, as some have noted, the head will clamp down on the carpet like a suction cup. There are two issues that many have complained about: short cord and tubes coming apart while vacuuming. It is, of course, an added expense but a good extension cord is handy about the house. This is a 9-amp vac so an 18-gauge extension cord of 50 feet or less would be adequate. My preference: a 16 gauge, 25-foot extension cord that will handle just about any routine household use. I use 12-gauge cords with shop power tools and runs longer than 50 feet. Problem solved.Right off the bat, I experienced the tubes coming apart while vacuuming. I am reluctant to force the tubes together because, due to their thinness, I worry that they might split. For me, the fix was simple and effective. I wrapped the ends of the tubes with 140 grit sandpaper and rotated them until the glossy sheen was completely removed from the tube. The resultant roughened surface grabs the inside of the mating tube and does not readily pull apart.I highly recommend this vac for hardwood/laminate floors. I use it on a short-nap wool carpet to spot clean. BTW, this model does include crevice and surface hand tools; apparently, earlier models did not include these. I just received this vac and I will update accordingly if issues arise.

I have a bad back and have been using a heavy, pushy vacuum for years. When I saw this I thought my prayers were answered- and they were! It’s light weight, versatile, and SUCKS. Oh boy, does it have a good sucker. I have hardwood floors and bought an extra brushy floor attachment, the best part is the heads can flex around corners so I can easily pick up the hose and put it anywhere! The old vacuum I’d have to switch between floor & hose mode constantly, this way I can just get everything at once! The best part? It’s small, easy to clean, and it has a retractable cord. THE CORD RETRACTS <3

So I’ve had this little gem for over a year now. I originally bought it to keep in our small guesthouse. But after using it a few times, it made its way over to the main part of the house. I’m OCD when it comes to vacuuming. I do a quick vacuuming on my floors every day. I have tile throughout and with dogs and kids coming and going, there’s always some sort of mess on the floor. I rarely lug out my heavier vacuum anymore. There’s no need to. This Bissell does the job and is so much easier to handle because it’s lightweight but durable. We’re a little rough and clumsy at my house and this machine is still in tact after one year of abuse. It works great on tile floors and for cleaning sofa cushions and the car. The suction is really good. It’s almost too strong for scatter rugs. It’s fine on small area rugs but If I had carpet, I probably would not prefer this model – I’d want a better beater brush. Some reviews mention the pole attachments not locking in securely. I would agree. The poles don’t lock into place and can sometimes come loose. As I said earlier, I use this vacuum every day and it’s held up very well. I have just gotten accustomed to pushing the poles in firmly. At this price point, I can let that minor flaw ride. I’m about to order another one for my son’s apartment which also has tile floors throughout. This is a good product at a good price.

I got this primarily to vacuum my dogs. That’s right – I have two very large, very shedding dogs. A first gen Labradoodle – 1st gen don’t always get the poodle coat. Mine didn’t. He sheds. A LOT. I know people say their dogs shed, but seriously, this guy takes it to a whole new level. The other dog is a Rottweiler, who also sheds, but it’s a “normal” amount.I have a robot vacuum, but it cannot cope with the volume of dog hair even running daily. The bin is always full. If I’m home when it runs I empty it twice while it’s running. This is currently 4 days a week. The other three it gets emptied daily.Neither of our dogs are really afraid of the vacuum (before I had the robot one) so I figured it wouldn’t be a stretch to get them acclimated to being vacuumed. So I ordered this and an attachment specifically designed to brush/vac a dog. The attachment was a waste. In the end I use the hose of this vacuum, without an attachment. Both dogs love it.However, the Rottie, she’s obsessed. She begins barking excitedly as soon as I turn the vacuum on. I do use this to vacuum surfaces and corners where the robot can’t quite manage – shelves, entertainment center, couches, corners, etc. My Rottie can’t wait till it’s her turn. And even when I’m done with her and move on the the non-Doodle Doodle, she is still trying to get in on the action. Bot dogs mad the “oh that feels SO good” face – seems to me it scratches the itch that they can never reach! Now – how does this little guy perform as an actual vacuum as opposed to a dog grooming implement? Surprisingly well! It has really powerful suction. Works great on all the items I mentioned. I haven’t used it with the floor attachment but I can imagine that the folks who complain about it on carpet didn’t read the description very well – there is no powered brush attachment and the suction is so powerful that I wouldn’t even try to use it on carpet except with the crevice tool around baseboards, corners etc – I have all hard surface floors so this won’t ever be something I do. I also can’t speak to the length of the extension for the floor tool because I haven’t used it – our robot vac does that job. The extensions do look short though so I can’t imagine trying to vacuum my whole house with this – but I can see using them to take out cobwebs! As a lightweight, powerful hard floor vacuum, being used for everything BUT the bulk of the floor, I give this high marks. As a dog-grooming device I’m thrilled – the amount of fur and (shudder) dander that I dumped from the bin was a real eye-opener – and that’s before I got to tapping out the filter (OMG that was disgusting!). I would not use this on small dogs…. the suction is powerful enough that you could probably lift a dog of 10lbs or less off the floor. But for my large dogs (+/-100lbs each), it’s amazing. They love it, it gets the shed and hopefully it’ll help cut down on the wear on our robot vac. It’s also small enough that it tucks into our already packed hall closet easily. It rolls smoothly on the floor and even when I took it all over it didn’t get tangled in it’s cord. I also love that the cord retracts into the body of the machine. Between this and the robot vac, I will likely never use our expensive water basin vacuum again! If you’re looking for something to get corners, cobwebs; to vacuum furniture and even large dogs, I don’t think you can go wrong with this… just be prepared for your dog to become an addict.

Ok so when I got it it was a little worried because of the size of the box. It was all there. Very easy to put together. Even comes with a few accessories. This little canister has very good suction. Works amazingly. It is made more for floors and indoor/ outdoor carpet. It does work on thicker carpet. However you can’t move handle back and forth like a normal vacuum on thicker carpet. If you don’t mind going one way with the vacuum and then switch directions. To if you are a hair shedder like I am it will collect it on the nozzle and you can pick it off without it getting all tangled inside the canister. So far I love this vacuum

I knew that if I just kept looking, with enough patience and money, I would eventually find the perfect product that could tackle the insane amount of dog hair and dead, winter grass in my house. My house has wood plank tile floors that are very dark brown. They show everything. We have 3 kids who have no idea that the food doesn’t belong on the floors or in the couch. We have 3 dogs, 1 Newfoundland (long, fluffy, chunks of hair) and 2 Blue Heelers (short, coarse, thin bunches of hair). I can literally sweep/mop/vacuum at night and by the time I wake up it looks like it’s been a few days since I touched the floors. It’s super defeating. Here’s what else I’ve tried:- Sweeping (This is effective but kills my back. It also takes several passes because it leaves fine hairs behind.)- Microfiber ‘Mop’ (Just no. These things can’t handle the amount of hair I have in my house.)- EyeVac (This still requires sweeping, but hurts a little less w/o the dustpan pickups. it also clogs with things my dogs chew up.)- Robotic Vacuum (These things always get stuck under my furniture and constantly beep because they fill up too fast.)- Dyson upright (before the ball ones, works well on carpet, not for corners or next to baseboards)- Bissell Pet Hair Eraser (This is an awesome vacuum, but better for carpet and requires changing attachments often.)This is my first canister vacuum. It’s super cute. It’s easy to setup and matches my Bissell Pet Hair Eraser, which I now keep upstairs, which has the only 3 rooms with carpet. The cord is not super long, but very reasonable. I don’t like changing outlets so I just attach an extension cord. It is lightweight but feels sturdy. At first I thought it would be too heavy to carry around but I found myself doing just that and forgetting I had it in my hand. I feel like I could plop it in and old backpack with a hole for the cords lol and it would be even more amazing. The suction blew my mind! I was fully expecting large items to get clogged, but to my surprise, this thing is really powerful. It was able to suck up dryer sheets and fuzzy remnants of toys that my dogs tear up on a regular basis. The Zing was able to get right up to the baseboards and corners, and go completely under furniture like my low, oversized sofa. I usually have to sweep or vacuum around the whole house and double back with the vacuum wand. I was able to do the entire downstairs in no time and only filled up twice. So if you have dogs or kids, and hardwood/tile floors.. do not hesitate to get this vacuum. It’s way cheaper than the others I’ve bought but outperforms them all!

This vacuum has very well exceeded my expectations! We recently adopted a young adult husky and were having a hard time getting the fur under control. I originally got this to use a FurMinator deshedding brush with vacuum attachment, as our stand up Bissell was just too difficult to use it with. I was really hoping that the plastic curved piece could be detached from the hose, but it doesn’t…but that’s ok! The curve is A LOT easier to work with than the straight with the stand up while using the deshedding tool I got separately.Aside of that…I decided to try to vacuum our very large rugs with this, and WOW! It got up a ton more fur off the rugs and hard floors than our other Bissell stand up (granted the other vacuum is over 10 years old) – you used to be able to still see all the fur on the rug after we vacuumed…not any more with this little gem! I attached a picture of the canister after half the room was vacuumed…lots there. We went with the bagless, knowing how fast we would go through bags in this house…Yes…as others have said, fur WILL stick to this via static – again see picture! But it takes 2 seconds to detach that tool and vacuum it off before you turn it off and put it away. And it will indeed go mostly flat for under furniture vacuuming – another fantastic bonus to buying this! But you can see that when it’s flat, it is at an angle, but still very doable! Yes…the plastic pieces can and likely will detach – but I didn’t have a problem as I really push them together and twist as I do so…they seemed to happily stay together for me. Having this much fur around, we still have to reach into the “ick” canister to remove it all when we go to empty it – but really isn’t too bad, although it is a bit more messy than our old stand up – but might just be my getting used to it and trying to figure out the less messy way to empty it.Overall, very well worth the money! Might have to stay with canisters for now on – even the more expensive ones. Extremely happy!

I have had this vacuum for a couple of weeks and so far I am really happy with it. I have all hard floors in my house (mostly wood). I have two young children and it seems like there are always crumbs and other messes on the floor. I had an upright vacuum and it seemed to just push the dirt and crumbs around the floor, so I was looking for something that was designed for hard floors rather than carpet. This fits the bill. The suction in very powerful. I have had it get slightly jammed a few times when I vacuum up something too large, but it’s been easy to fix and get back to vacuuming. This is my third bagless vacuum and it is the easiest to empty. I also like the retractable cord. I love that the canister is so lightweight and easy to carry when necessary. It rolls well across the floors, although I have occasionally pulled it over while vacuuming, which is a little annoying. But it doesn’t happy too often.I have a few area rugs in my house. This does okay on them but not great. For me that’s not a deal breaker.
